Matthew Foss

Chief Energy Economist at Government of Alberta

Matthew Foss is the Chief Energy Economist for the Alberta Government and is responsible for assessing the value and competitiveness of Alberta's energy resources, forecasting oil and natural gas prices and energy revenues, and advising Alberta on energy markets and related policies and strategies. He was analytical lead for the 2015/16 Royalty Review, the 2009/10 investment competiveness review and the 2007 Royalty Review Panel. Matthew has worked with the Canadian Energy Research Institute and taught several economics courses at the University of Calgary, where he obtained a Master of Arts and a Bachelors of Arts First Class Honours, both in Economics.   See Matthew speak: The Impact of the Cost of Oil and Gas on the Petrochemical Industry
