Robert Tripp is President and CEO of Benefuel Inc. and has been involved in the biodiesel industry for the last 12 years, developing refining projects in the United States, Canada and South East Asia. Mr. Tripp co-founded Benefuel in 2007 to scale-up a novel, refining technology to convert low-cost waste feedstocks into high quality, low-carbon biodiesel and bio-lubricants. During this time, Mr. Tripp successfully led the company through the installation and operation of two, fully integrated pilot plants and a 200 million litre per year commercial facility that was licensed to Flint Hills Resources. He established strategic partnerships and investments from Flint Hills Resources, Suncor Energy, Felda Global Ventures and ITOCHU Corporation. Mr. Tripp was named as one of the top 100 people in the Advanced Bioeconomy in 2017 by the Biofuels Digest.
Prior to founding Benefuel Inc., Mr. Tripp began his career in Management Consulting with Deloitte & Touche. A year later he joined the newly formed start-up, iSTAR Internet, which became the first Internet company to go public in Canada. Subsequent to iSTAR, Mr. Tripp co-founded Clarity Inc, a software development company based in Calgary, Alberta and grew it into a leading provider of back office applications and custom developed software.
Mr. Tripp holds a Bachelor of Arts, Economics from Carleton University.
